This year this very original film festival has occurred from the 5th to the 11th of July and it has been characterized by the presence of many international artists and by the screenings of international productions.

The Ischia Film Festival is, in fact, an international cinematic event that gives a special artistic award to film makers, to directors of photography and to set designers who have mainly highlighted Italian and international locations emphasizing their landscapes and their cultural identities.

This year the president of the Organizational Committee has been the English set designers sir Ken Adam who has already been rewarded two times with an Oscar for Barry Lyndon and for The Madness of King George.

The Foreign Award is given every year to those international productions that choose Italy as special location for their films. The Foreign Award 2009 has been given to the Marc Forster film 007 Quantum of Solace.

In the past this prize was given to The Passion by Mel Gibson, to 007 Casinò Royale by Martin Campbell, to The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou by Wes Anderson and to Angels and Demons by Ron Howard.
