The long procession of Sant’Antonio occurs every year in Anacapri on the 13th of June: this is a veritable spectacle made up by faith and folklore elements where you can admire flowers tapestry and tables ornamented with embroidered tablecloths. In this long parade the Sant’Antonio statue is carried on shoulder in an incense cloud accompaigned by a human file made up by many clergymen and institutional representatives that parade through the urban streets while from their balconies people throw on the  Sant’Antonio statue roses and brooms petals.

One of the most attractive feature of this procession is the “little angels” group that precedes the Sant’Antonio statue: this is a group of children wearing a blue tunic. The other nice group is which one made up the so-called “little monks”: little guys dressed like real monks who carry in a basket a little blessed loaf of bread called “Sant’Antonio’s Bread” or “The Poor Bread” recalling the food distributed in the past to poor people.
