The most important summer event in Positano surely is on the 15th of August when there is the celebration of the Assunta feast. This moment is really loved by the local population. All the city in that day is ornamented with festive decorations and you can assist to many religious ceremonies dedicated to the Holy Mary.

In the urban streets there is the organization of a town festival that ends with a wonderful pyrotechnic show that is one of the most eagerly-awaited moment on the Costiera Amalfitana. Many Sorrento boats organize mini-cruises to make tourists experience the striking and bright atmosphere of the Positano feast.

During the same day there also is another event called the “Sbarco dei Saraceni” (the “Saracens going ashore”) that is a historical in costume reconstruction of the ancients troubles that this city had with the Saracen pirates
