At the end of December there is in Positano the Sagra della Zeppola: a town festival focused on a traditional Christmas sweet thing (called Zeppola) and on the typical gastronomy of the Costiera Amalfitana. Many stalls are placed in all the urban streets and especially on beaches in order to carry out a real gastronomic competition that will end with the assignation of three special awards called the “Zeppola d’Oro” (the Golden Zeppola): one for the best leavened zeppola, one for the best potatoes zeppola and one for the best ornamented dish. After this competition people can taste all the zeppolas produced by the contestants enjoying live music and folkloristic plays.
