This is a historical reenactment of the Mad Float’s offer of blessed wine to the Signoria (Lordship) of Florence and it occurs at the end of September. This reconstruction recalls three fundamental aspects of the Tuscan culture. The first one is the production of very good wine, the second one is connected to the way of transporting wine during the Florentine Republic (farmers used to build oxcarts unifying in a unique block up to 2800 wine flasks); the third one recalls the relation between the city and the countryside.
