The magnificent Strozzi Palace is placed in the historical centre of Florence between the namesake square and Tornabuoni street. This construction is one of the most important symbols of the Renaissance architecture. It is a sort of little fortress in the middle of the city with its cubic shape divided into three floors: each one of this floor is characterized by linear frames surrounding a central courtyard. Its has three entry portals placed in Tornabuoni street, in Strozzi square and in Strozzi street. The superior frame has been designed by Simone del Pollaiolo.

The Strozzi Palace

The Strozzi Palace Courtyard
At the low ground you can admire the wonderful ambiances of the Ferri Room.
At the second floor there is a lodge characterized by columns supporting wooden trusses.
At the Noble Floor you can visit the wide salons ornamented by elegant windows and monumental fireplaces.
Strozzi Palace is one of the most important place of the Florentine culture because it is now the seat of important institutions like the Vieusseux Cabinet, the National Institute of Renaissance Studies and the Human Science Institute. It is even used as a seat for big art exhibitions.
From the year 2006 the Palazzo Strozzi Foundation has created a rich and innovative plan of exhibitions, of events and of activities that take place in the spaces of this construction like the Noble Floor, the Strozzina and the Courtyard. Here you can find all the future artistic events organized by this Foundation.
The Strozzi Palace is open all year long from 9:00 a.m. to 20:00 p.m., even when there are no exhibitions. In addition to the new Centro di Cultura Contemporanea Strozzina (CCCS) and to a permanent exhibition about this palace history, there are also a new café, the wireless internet connection, comfortable benches to have a rest in the courtyard and a series of concerts, conferences and events that last all year long. All the Palazzo Strozzi exhibitions are organized in order to offer a great number of multiple choices to the whole family: you can choose among illustrations for children, interactive activities, didactic laboratories and special publications. All these activities are always available in Italian and in English.
