The Uffizi palace was built by Vasari in 1560. Its was originally created to be the seat of the administrative offices of the Florence municipality: today this building is one of the most important museums in the world and is it called the Uffizi Gallery.

In addition to all this things this gallery hedges in also all the pictures of the Medici’s collection providing you with a complete overview of the Italian painting from the XIIIth to the XVIIth century. Here you can admire several artistic works by Cimabue, Giotto, Beato Angelico, Duccio di Buoninsegna, Simone Martini, Paolo Uccello, Filippo Lippi, Botticelli, Perugino, Bellini, Giorgione, Correggio, Tiziano, and by Caravaggio

The real jewel of this museum is the Botticelli’s Room where there are all the most important creations of this artist from the “Birth of Venus” to the “Spring”.

In this gallery there are also other very important works like: the Doni Tondo or The Holy Family with Saint John by Michelangelo, The Adoration of the Magi and The Annunciation by Leonardo da Vinci.

The Uffizi Gallery is connected to Pitti Palace through a long and striking Corridor built by Vasari in 1565: it contains a prestigious collection of pictures like the self-portraits by Tiziano, Veronese, and Correggio.
