Thanks to its perfect acoustics, the ancient Verona’s arena became in 1913 the ideal place for this famous Opera Festival: the first opera performed in this enchanting Roman amphitheatre was the Aida by Giuseppe Verdi.  This first event was internationally appreciated attracting many visitors and singers from many countries of the world. The famous singer Maria Callas debuted exactly in this arena where even Pavarotti and Domingo made their concerts. Still now this Opera Festival is the most important summer event in Verona thanks to the presence of famous artists, of international producers and of a wonderful scenography capable of enchanting 20.000 spectators.
