This is one of the biggest and most beautiful opera theatres in Europe being also one of the most important constructions in Palermo. This building, placed in the Verdi Square, was built in 1891: externally it is characterized by neoclassic features while its internal space has liberty elements.  On its big external staircase  you can admire two relevant bronze sculptures and two lions.

Its big internal hall is surmounted by a beautiful hemispheric dome. Today this theatre is the seat of the Palermo Opera Season.
