This XV century church is placed in the middle of the Palermo historical centre and it is also called “Gancia” that means “hostel for foreigners“.

The church of Santa Maria degli Angeli or “Gancia”

It is characterized by a Gothic façade with ogival arches and it contains real artistic treasures and a XVII century organ. This is one of the most ancient church of this city: it is based on a Greek cross structure with a big central nave and many lateral chapels: the most beautiful one among them is the chapel belonging to the Spanish Royal Family dedicated to the Madonna of Guadalupe.
